Decisions

Ok.  I finally compiled my ideas for project 2 and I've made some decisions.  Im going to make an interactive map of Denver which will run in Flash.  You will be able to navigate it by clicking on buttons, typical North, South, East, West and a few other controls.  But instead of being able to go where you want, you will be stopped at areas, spots and places that are important to me.  Then I will make some further interaction from there for each area like pictures or something.  Hopefully this will put my own personal identity into the space.  I will get my maps from Google Earth probably, and use my own images.  That's it in a nut shell.

Interactive Book of Changes

I really like all of the animation in this piece. Its has lead me to change my mind a bit and make my project 2 in flash. Book of Changes

Ideas

So finally after browsing the web for so long, I've made some decisions.  The interactivity on my piece should be easy to use and straight forward.  It may even be nice to use several different types of interactivity and navigation.
I do want some type of imagery, but I haven't decided on what.  And I have been tossing around the idea of sound, but I don't want it too be too much stuff, so maybe I will keep it simple.  I know I am going to use map/s to make the path, so the imagery will have to tie into the map/s.
Im sure I will get more ideas the more I search the web.

Different Interactivity

This piece lets you interact with an image simply by scrolling over links. Face?

Another Interactive site

This site is interactive all in itself, and then it has several options to view and interact with other net art pieces. SecretTechnologies

Real Time

This site has a list of Net Art pieces that are interactive in real time. FurtherField

Weather

I really like how unique the interactivity is in this piece.  I don't totally understand it, but my project will be interactive and the more ways I see that done, the more options I have in the end. WeatherRSS

Social Mapping

This site uses people to get its information about certain areas and how strongly people in that community feel about those areas.  Then its mapped into a 3-d visualization .  So its basically showing the viewer what places people like on a 3-d map. Biomapping

Cartography

Since I have been thinking about making a specified path for the viewer to fallow for my second project, I will probably map it out.  I put several maps in my image and that is one of the few ways I could think about a path and how to represent it.

WorldMapper -  This site shows many maps, I really like how it showed the World map in different perspectives.

RadicalCartography  -  This site has tons of maps, many that show you a new perspective on the World, a city, or whatever.

DrawMap  -  Some cool images and information on 3-d computer maps.

Sites for Ideas

Here are some Net art pieces that I find interesting and are adding to my knowledge for my second project.

Gravity  -  This on is pretty cool because it uses scroll bars to make it interactive, which I haven't seen before.

Some Universe  -  This one also uses scroll bars, but there is a lot of stuff hidden throughout the site.

Midnight  -  This one is interesting, I like what they made interactive, although I get a bit confused once I start interacting with it.

Project 2 image

This was my first exercise in my Netart class.  We had to make an image that had to do with our first project, which is any Netart piece.  I really like the Netart pieces that are interactive and draw the viewer into them.  For example, jodi.org.
